Supermicro Expands Business and Technical Collaboration with SAP

Supermicro achieves SAP Certification for Its Entire Line of Server and Storage Systems for
SAP NetWeaver® Running on Linux and Joins SAP Global Technology Partner Program


Orlando, FL, May 18, 2017 - Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), a global leader in compute, storage and networking technologies, including green computing, announced today that SAP has certified its complete portfolio of server and storage solutions to support the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform running on Linux. Supermicro is collaborating with SAP to bring its rich portfolio of open cloud-scale computing solutions to enterprise customers looking to transition from traditional high-cost proprietary systems to open, cost-optimized, software-defined architectures. To support this collaboration, Supermicro has joined the SAP global technology partner program.

The company will showcase these workload-optimized compute and storage systems at SAPPHIRE NOW® and ASUG Annual Conference, being held May 16–18 in Orlando,

The certified solutions comprise the complete portfolio of Supermicro®  servers including 2, 4 and 8 socket Ultra, SuperServer, SuperBlade® and BigTwin™ high-density computing solutions. The DP Ultra and MP SuperServer systems are enterprise-ready, designed to provide maximum performance and efficiency.

The new 8U SuperBlade® supports both current and next-generation Intel® Xeon® processor-based blade servers with fast 100G EDR InfiniBand and Omni-Path switches for mission-critical, enterprise and data center applications. It maximizes the performance and power efficiency with DP and MP processors in half-height and full-height blades, respectively. The Supermicro BigTwin™ is a breakthrough multi-node server system. It delivers maximum system performance and efficiency with better thermal capacity in a compact 2U form-factor, enabling solutions with high-performance processor, memory, storage and I/O. It is the first All-Flash NVMe multi-node system available.

Supermicro will offer comprehensive solutions for the SAP NetWeaver platform, including expanded software, service and overall solution offerings. Supermicro will offer global support services, in collaboration with SAP, providing mission-critical 24X7 technical support. Supermicro Rack Scale Design will provide advanced cloud-scale management of the solutions to deliver open DevOps-based management for on-demand cloud scale data centers. To accelerate deployment and reduce complexity, Supermicro offers rack integration, proof-of-concept services and consulting services on solution architecture design, and can also provide remote management of hardware, OS configuration and system health.
